Paulina Strzegowska completed her Master’s degree in vocal and acting department in the Academy of Music of Stanisław Moniuszko in Gdańsk. She specialised in solo singing studying in the class of world-renowned bass-baritone singer Stanisław Daniel Kotliński.
From an early age she was interested in classical and jazz singing. She sang in many choir groups such as the Choir of the Academy of Music in Cracow which took part in numerous recordings and concerts conducted by a distinguished Polish compositor Krzysztof Penderecki.
During her vocal studies she took an active part in concerts and plays organised by the Academy.
For many years Paulina has been interested in jazz and entertainment music as well as vocal improvisation. As a vocalist she is inspired by great jazz divas such as: Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Sara Voughan, Etta James, Aretha Franklin or Dianne Reeves.
Paulina during her performances combines vocal with saxophone resulting in diversified and interesting compositions.
Paulina’s great passion is work over respiration. She deepens her knowledge about it from both the vocal and wind instrument perspective. Inspired by respiration and its influence over vocalist’s workshop and technique she wrote her Master’s thesis in a from of a research work. She would like to continue her research about respiration during her doctoral studies.
